wifi connectivity acer iconia tab a500

I just got an Acer Iconia Tab A500 tablet. Android version 3.2.1, build number Acer_A500_7.014.02_COM_GEN2
It will not stay connected to wifi. I have a laptop and it stays connected to wifi just fine. My tablet worked great the first couple of hours now it will not stay connected at all. I've reset it twice. Anyone have the same issues? Any help?

I seen this thread already and it did not help me one bit.
Seems like no one else has gotten any help with this either.

There are numerous possible reasons that any given wifi connection will not work.

Maybe one of the following tips will help. Just pick whatever you have not already tried..

If you have not done the following yet, then:

*verify that the tablet wifi is actually on, and not in airplane mode

    *try booting your AP/router.

*try "forgetting" all of the networks in you wifi settings, and then adding one that you want to test.

*remove from your tablet any app/task killer apps, and any apps claiming to fix or repair wifi.

*remove any apps that you installed right before you started seeing the problem

*if using WEP, ensure that you have entered the correct key

For more specific assistance, you may need to provide a more complete description of the problem, including more detailed symptoms, and the steps that you have tried so far.

For example, you state that it does not stay connected. Does that mean that it connects? How long does it stay connected? When you open the wifi settings, what do you see there? If you tap on the connection, do you ever see an IP address being assigned?

Since I "upgraded" my android version, my connection keeps dropping off. I can only hope they fix it as you apparently go back. Shutting completely down helps me. Also turning wifi off under settings, wait 10 seconds, then wifi back on. Then select connection and click on "connect".

Have you tried using the Factory data reset under Settings-->Backup & reset? This has helped numerous users resolve problems that they encountered after the ICS upate, including various wifi problems.

Note that shanni77 is not running ICS 4.0.3, but Honeycomb 3.2.1. I infer from your post that you are apparently running ICS, so the Factory data reset may be the solution for you. That may also work for shanni77 if that has not yet been tried.

No I have not tried that. I will try that as well as your other suggestions above. Thanks so much for your help! I will let you know how all goes.

Ok so I tried everything and nothing has worked. I'm at a loss!! I even went into my router address and checked everything out there. Under LAN computers it list the ip address of my laptop and one for my tablet. The ip address on my tablet under wifi connections matches the one listed on the router. I was able to get on the internet for a few seconds. I was on facebook, logged in and it was super slow although it said my connection was excellent. I then closed out of facebook and opened up google. I then got the screen, webpage cannot be displayed. I don't get it. Now I cannot get on anything, I just get webpage cannot be displayed. I was at my mom's yesterday and wifi was working great on my tablet. Even when I got home that night it was working at my house. Now all of a sudden nothing. Any more ideas???
