Is this an OTA update? I haven't seen or heard of one today, but I'm at work. Also the file "DE" suggests a German firmware version?

XDA has noted an OTA for the A700 though. Reports suggest not much new there. If this is an update for the A510, hopefully they'll at least fix the damn sensitivity issue.

    Yes we are germans...

    - more speed...system seems to be faster
    - touch runs like hell

Root was gone... but after rooting it again...it was perfect. Beware of deleting system apps, the update wont run.

now it runs like it has to from the beginning....

but no Info from acer to that update

Well, this makes THIS Canadian A510 owner happy! If the touchscreen problem is indeed gone, it means a screen protector would work now, and it reduces the only real complaint of the tab down to the heat, which I've concluded I can live with (adding an appropriate case). I'll confirm when I get my own update, but I'm glad Acer has fixed that particular niggling issue. Thanks for the heads up!

We should start a betting pool for if/when the 510 will get Jelly Bean.

Actually My FOTA image was Acer_AV041_A510_RV34RC05_EMEA_CUS1 -> Build Acer_AV041_A510_1.098.00_EMEA_CUS1
I upgraded and now is much better both heat, speed and screen sensitivity.
As expected I lost root btw.

Zao, what region is that update? And how has the heat improved?

My current FW is Acer_AV041_A510_1.079.00_PA_CA , which I assume is a Canadian version. I'll be waiting for the .098, although honestly I'm not reporting near-unusable touchscreen sensitivity. It does take some extra touches from time to time (especially when you're not holding the back out of the case) but overall it's still quite workable.

I'm in the UK and have just installed the new update. Looks like the screen sensitivity issue has been solved like others have reported. Still can't find a change log though. Would be nice to know what else was updated. Whole unit feels slicker and fast to.

EMEA should be for EuropeMiddleEurope -> I bought it in Italy, but in some italian forum other italians have a Acer_AV041_A510_1.044.00_WW_GEN1
Neither form me was near unusable the touch screen sensitivity, but now it's much better.
For heat: when I am using some games it is not heating as much as before. I didn't take precise measurements, it is just a feel, I can say also that antutu benchmarks now are lower, from 10900 down to 8900, but you know that benchmarks often are not performance synonyms.

Very interesting, thanks! If they downclocked some performance factors then perhaps it can help with the heat. Many have speculated whether it's hardware or software that's the primary source of the heat. Frankly, if they had just put the processor ANYWHERE in the tablet besides under the user's hand, it would've been far less of a noticeable issue, unless you're a gamer. Apparently the TF300 and 700 also get warm (though admittedly not as warm), but their processor is around the camera area where few people hold it.

Hopefully it'll be just a matter of days before we in N.America get this OTA, we all certainly deserve it. :/

I hope however they would just give us 510ers the same notification screen config as the A700. I'd love to have having my wifi and brightness control visible in one tap...
