A510 under review at Amazon ?

Hi all, I was ready to exchange my a510. Amazon has a message indicating the 510 is under review; they are not selling it now. (Other sellers are still selling ).

They said I would have to do a refund and then repurchase. ( really don't want to do that as i paid for part of my purchase from a certificate, which is nonrefundable. I'd be losing a little money ).

The Acer website does not have the a510 in their Acer Store anymore either.

Seems like Amazon may be waiting to hear something from Acer? Or waiting for some new ones ?

I wanted to return/exchange this one and simply wait for some new stock, Amazon said they couldn't. (Will check again on that. )

Any insight as to what's going on. Or what could be going on?

    TIA for any input/ideas!

It could just be they are completely out, and are waiting on more from the factory. I am not having any issues with mine, and most are in the same boat, I don't think it's any technical issue. If there does end up being an issue, I would expect Acer or Amazon to replace or fix any affected tablets.

Edit-I see in Australia it's just about to be released, but they get $150 AUD ($148 USD) worth of promos with it!

"Sales of the Iconia Tab A510 in Australia will come with an Iconia Tab Starter Pack, which Acer says is valued at $150. The pack includes access to a range of online tutorials and a dedicated customer support line. Acer will also provide a $100 gift voucher that can be used to purchase eBooks or music downloads."

My Acer A510 rocks. Best tablet I have owned. Great wifi, file management, USB host, sound quality and battery life. Display is nice for a 1280X800 display too.

CaliforniaRailRoadGuy,I posted this last week in the A501 forum, and just thought you might like to view it here. Its a great innovation from Acer I think.

    Acer Starter Pack

P.S. I tried it myself on my A501,it was for honeycomb last week, but it looks like they have upgraded to ICS4 now. I dont know if i'ts available to everyone, but all you have to do is enter your SNID to access the tutorials. My SNID on my tablet did not work however. I had to get it from a label in the SIM/SD compartment, which had a different number?

Thanks! I tried it using my SNID (it was the same under the cover and on the device), but it says my SNID Number couldn't be validated, they must know what country you bought your device in by SNID. Would there be any other codes I could use?

Sorry to hear it did'nt work CaliforniaRailRoadGuy .Thought thats why it had a different SNID ! I think theres no other way to access the service unfortunately. This service could be available to all Acer customers. Why did'nt they implement it worldwide, instead of letting a regional partner set it up ? I only hope Acer see the benefit of this service and indeed do get it up and running in other countries.

Thanks CRRG and others for thoughts.

Hoping that it is simply a stock issue; and expecting that other a510 updates will iron out the kinks and glitches.

This one has me a little worried. I got the notice that Amazon shipped mine on Friday. Then they put it on "review". I'm not sure if mine is coming or not and if I get it why was it put on review. Guess I'll find out today or tomorrow when it gets here.

PatH...doesn't need one more thing to worry about

I just saw that it is under review too, strange mine was one of the first ones Amazon sold back in April and so far I have had zero issues with it. In fact this is by far the best tablet I have purchased to date, I like it far better than my Asus TF201 that has all the bugs with wifi and gps.
