Questions, does the A510 have an aluminum back? Does it have the same type dock connector at the bottom as the A500? How does the A510 charge? separate charger like the A500 or via USB?

    Thanks

It has a Micro USB multi-function port at the bottom which doubles as a charging port, however you have to use the supplied charger as it doesn't support charging over USB. It doesn't have an Aluminum back, it has a grippy, textured back, which I like.

Looking forward to a detailed review. So far, I'm on the fence about this tab.

What other tabs are you looking at? You'll be hard pressed to find the features the A510 does for the price it's selling at.

Not really looking for a new tablet right now. We've got an A500, A100, and an A200 in the house right now. I've been extremely pleased with all of them. (The A100 has a few flaws, but I got it for $189 during Best Buy's pre-Black Friday online sale.) And they all use the same charger.

The 32gb Asus TF300 is supposed to be $399 with almost identical specs to the A510. I'm wondering what value the A510 has for $50 more.

It's up for pre order on Amazon, however it's priced at $489.

That's by a 3rd party though, so they may have jacked up the price. I couldn't tell you what the A510 has over the TF300, maybe nothing I'm just really happy with Acer and like staying with a brand if I can.

Edit-It has 2 hours more battery life, 12 hours versus 10 hours, though you can extend that with the keyboard attachment on the TF300.

Strangely, it's not even shown on Asus's web site.

    ASUS

The Transformer Prime had some GPS problems, for which Asus is releasing a ugly Dongle to "fix" it, I hope this one doesn't have that issue.

Apparently the TF300 will come in 3 versions-

    1.WiFi only-with Tegra 3 Quad Core CPU
    2.3G and WiFi-with same Tegra 3
3.LTE and WiFi-with S4 Dual Core CPU (Tegra 3 doesn't play nice with LTE).
