Problem seeing files on SDCARD using Recovery, help please!

    Hello guys,
New to the A500, but have been rooting phones for awhile and never had this bug occur.

    1. Bought new A500 with Android 3.1
    2. Formatted new 32GB SD with Fat32
    3. Ran iconiaroot from SD card (noticed it used old su binary as reported by Titanium so I did an updated on the su binary)
    3. Used Acer Recovery to install Clockworkmod, but it is the old 1.3.4 version
    4. Copied Thor A500 ROM v14.2 to the SD card.
    5. Went into Recovery and did the "install zip from sdcard", "choose zip from sdcard", the directory doesn't show any of the files I put on the SD card, including the iconia root file I put there. Instead I see:

    LOST.DIR/
    clockworkmod/
    data/
    **goback**

If I use ES Explorer, it shows all the contents of the SD card including the Thor OM and the latest Recovery I copied to the SD. I am unable to use Recovery to update the recovery or to install the ROM.

From my newbie perspective it seems there is a rights issue or some other problem that keeps recovery from seeing the files, and the other directories.

I did mount SDCARD from recovery as that was someone else's suggestion.

Please help me figure out why I am unable to see these files so I can update Recovery and the ROM.

    Thanks!

    Testshoot!

Thanks sir. I have posted a request for help on several forums over the last couple days and other than one person suggesting I mount sdcard (which I did, and it didn't make a difference) I haven't gotten a reply.

It is as if there isn't a proper link to the right directory, or a rights issue, or permissions, but it is bizarre.

Can't update recovery or install a new ROM so it would be great to find a way to get this fixed.

    Thanks again!

Have you tried another, smaller micro SD card? I have found some of these cards to be quirky - especially the larger, faster cards.

I am up for trying anything...essentially a different, new SD that I only put the recover and rom on.

I am getting desperate, thanks for the suggestion.

    Will report back with results.

    Thanks

The 32GB SD is a Lexar, class 10. As a photographer, our industry has considered Lexar and Sandisk the two top products, and in the PC side of things, I add Kingston.

    Thanks for any ideas...

Okie dokie...had an old Sandisk Class nothing 1GB card handy. Copied recovery and rom to it...swapped with the 32gb card, and tried that way. Sure enough, it saw the two files on the card and allowed me to flash the recovery first, then the rom.

As I am typing this, Thor is booting for the first time.

    Huge thanks!

As I've seen this before is best to use class 4 as they tend to work a lot better.

Understand...a device of this type most commonly needs class 4, but since I got a deal on the class 10, that is what I bought. I call it future proofing for the day I will have a device needing more than class4, I will be covered.

    Thanks
