    [ROM] [AOKP] Hand-rolled for the Acer Iconia A200 - ***BUILD 40 6/23/12***

    **UPDATED 7/10/2012** v0.7 MILESTONE 6 - ROLLED IN KERNEL

Inspired by nicholasblock's self-compiled CM9, and with much thanks to Team Kang, Obsidian, RobKort, hbwelch, xmc wildchild22, ProTekk and especially the original inspiration, peteralfonso (I used the way early Bugless builds on my original Moto Droid). Reading everyone's posts does wonders. I take very little credit for any of the crazy coding that went into all of this. Built-in 1.5 ghz overclock'd kernel credit goes to Obsidian.

I make no promises of any kind, including but not limited to if you brick your device, responding in a timely fashion, etc etc etc.

This is for all intents and purposes stable, except the CRT Off Animation (Read Below)

It is based on aokp_picasso_milestone-6. Here's the official Changelog/News:

    AOKP | News

    Disable Boot animation
Keyboard: Volume keys act as a cursor while typing -- disable in keyboard options
Long press home for recent apps (thanks brucekey)

(Thanks to brainfire for writing this up.)

    What Works:
    - Sound
    - Touch screen
    - WiFi
    - Video
    - Camera
    - Uhhhhhhh..?

    What Doesn't:
    - CRT Off Animation
    - Network location (thanks Dingodave!)
    - ???

    Changelog:
    v0.1 - Initial Build
v0.2 - WiFi Only, Small Revisions in Compile Code, is more bettererer?
v0.3 - Synced to Build 38 of AOKP
v0.4 - Working sound! Minor revisions to compile code, repo sync
v0.5 - Working touch! Minor code revision, repo sync to Build 39
v0.6 - Complete refresh/resync of source, camera shutter disabled (I think?), wifi scan interval set to 60 for battery savings, still cannot manage to build a working kernel into this blasted thing. Any help on that last one would be awesome..
    v0.62 - Sync'd to AOKP Build 40
v0.7 - Milestone 6, working built in kernel. FINAL ICS BUILD

    WHAT YOU WILL NEED>
+ ClockworkMod Installed on your rooted a200
    + aokp_picasso_e-ota-eng.profet.milestone.zip here> http://www.mediafire.com/?12qlh719ri1w71x
    + Gapps if you want them here> Goo.im Downloads - Downloading gapps-ics-20120429-signed.zip

Put those files on your sdcard (NOT INTERNAL MEMORY)

Instructions assume that you are reasonably familiar with rooted devices and flashing:

    1) Boot into recovery
    2) NANDROID BACKUP!
    3) Format data/factory recovery
    4) Flash aokp_picasso_e-ota-eng.profet.milestone.zip
(gapps go here if you want)
    5) Your tab will automatically reboot, welcome to AOKP!
    6) Turn off CRT Off Animation in Settings > ROM Control > General UI (or you will get quick reboots every time you turn off the screen)

    What I'm Looking At Next:
    - Getting another tablet to dev on
    - Fixing Network Location
    - Getting it to actually recognize and handshake with the market as an A200
    - OS-specific tweaks and staring at build files more

Testers welcome! I work quite a bit and lack things like special bluetooth doohickeys to test, so anyone who's interested let me know.

Thanks for the fast feedback everyone! I've just finished a fresh compile, gonna test it real fast and will post a fresh link.

    1) I was having the location issue as well, but it started working after a reboot I think? Let me know

    2) The new upload link will be better. I finally broke down and registered with mediafire..

I have rebooted multiple times. I also wiped and reloaded and still no luck with network location. GPS works fine and locks on fast. The alpha 2 of CM9 had this same issue but works fine in Alpha 3 if that's any help. I am loving this ROM otherwise and will be using it as my daily driver. Thanks for all the hard work. Looking forward to what you do next.

Thanks! For the life of me, I can't seem to compile a working kernel into the ROM. I've tried compiling it both separately and as a part of the ROM compile to no avail (cyanogenmod_picasso_e_defconfig). I speculate that this may be part of the issue.

Somehow in between compiles (the one I mentioned in my earlier post) I have lost the ability to download apps on the market. No clue on that one, so I'm undoing some changes and seeing what the deal is. For now, what's posted is the best mostly-working bet.

    Updates coming! Stay tuned
