lol I forgot man! Honest mistake BTW, that account is mine too. I'll fix my mistake. Thanks for pointing it out. I didn't bother improving it, cause not many people seems to have had issues. I'm keeping it up though, have been having lots of downloads on my files.

Thanks for pointing it out about the wipe!

Without this tutorial I would have never risked it. Clear and concise - you've done a real service to the A200 community! :-)

Hey - I'm running Windows Vista. I'm having trouble getting the drivers (or finding drivers) to install that will work to interface well with the A200. Do you know of any drivers that would work with Vista?

That is the driver from Acer

For adb you need to install the android.sdk
Search google and you will find it.

Read this thread if you need more help

    To recap.
    Install drivers from acer, then
    install android.sdk
Connect tablet and it should now work.

Is a micro sd card required for boot unlock and root only on A200 ?

No. I've done it before by copying the ROM to the internal memory

I am not able to get into recovery. I did all the steps as it is. To be sure, I tried the steps couple of times and everything is just correct. When I press vol down + power to get into recover, it comes with the Andriod figure with red triangle. If I reboot normally, it goes comes-up.

When running through the steps with the file ACER_A200_RECOVERY_SWITCHER.bat, at the last stage where it asks you want to boot to recovery or home or exit I select recovery and then it happens. Another note is that after the message booting into recovery image, I see couple of red lines that reads some thing like Can not fast boot in locked mode and some download error. Does this ring any bells?

    Edit1: BTW, I selected CWM.

Edit2: The precise error message in red during the last step of running SWITCHER.bat
Fastboot: Not support the command in Lock mode
Failed to process command download: 0050e800 error(0x2)

    @krs007,

Your problem is not that you are not getting into recovery, but that you are getting into STOCK recovery vs custom recovery. And it seems that the reason for that is that the tablet is still locked. Before anything else, you need to unlock it.
