    This is only true if you leave the factory recovery in place. If you flash CWM ....NO you CANNOT install the OTA straight from ACER.

    I can verify this on multiple devices.

    You will receive the update message, and it will download, but not install, if this were the case there would be no need for a modified zip.

    I noticed I wrote 'unlocked bootloader' - I meant to say untouched.

    Works great! But how can it be reversed? I can not install updates for my device. I tried resetting the factory settings, but that did not work.

    Successfully unlock bootloader + rooted only. Waiting for next OTA update to self clarify some issues.

    Next step should be CWM, OC, custom ROM, TWRP Recovery and perhaps multiboot
    Not to forget Ubuntu & Backtrack. Thanks to everyone!

    @hallhest...
    Do you manage to reverse? If success, care to share the exact steps? I'm praying for you here...

    Ok I have the USB drivers installed. I have the Boot loader unlocked. And it says I have ClockWorkMod installed. But when it reboots, the A200 goes straight to normal ICS unlock screen. How do I tell it to install the Cyanogen 9.0 zip image?

    I have ROM manager installed but I don't see how to point it to my sd card. It only shows the root of my A200 internal flash memory and no way to access my sd card.

    To answer my own question, when I told Rom Manager that ClockworkMod was version 2.x.x.x instead of 3.x.x.x it was able to reboot into recover mode and I was able to install Cyanogen.
