    A200's Horrible Audio Input

    Hi everyone. Just got the Acer A200 and have found the audio input to be atrocious, whether I use the external microphone or the audio jack. I read a post on another forum with the same complaint. Is anyone here having a similar problem? Could this be a hardware and/or software issue? Thanks.

    What firmwire are you on, 3.2 or 3.2.1?

    Hi, I too just bought the A200 3 days ago - Love the ease of use BUT the Sound Recorder function is atrocious.

    It play back sounds slow, distorted and retarded.

    I an on 3.2.1 and wondering if this is 'all we get' or if I shold take it back to the shop for exchange ASAP???

    I have had the same problem from purchasing one 3 days ago. I had the same issues including skype and sound recorder, appears to be a mic problem. Acer support stepped me through factory reset and everything, ensured i was on 3.2.1 and then gave me a DOA approval. I took it back and excahnged it today, but sadly still have the same problem, its seems as though it might be "all we get" unfortunately.

    Hey Moorze,

    Sorry to hear you too have this issue. I had not gone as far as getting ACER support involved yet. If you have had the tablet swapped out then could it be a bad batch of A200's?

    Out of interst did you try the replacement out in the store with the sales people?

    What is your next plan of action?

    This has been an Acer problem with the A500 since its inception. It has actually gotten better since the 3.2.1 update. Sorry to hear that the A200 has similar problems. It seems to be a software - honeycomb issue.

    As a newbie to Android's and Honeycomb - are you saying that every Android Tablet running Honeycomb ( 3.2.1 ) has poor voice recording ( and Voice search ) issues?

    If it's an Android problem surely it must affect everry manufacturers tablet running Honeycomb.

    Are you sure it's not an Acer Hardware probelm??

    Please assist us unhappy users get to the bottom of this...... Ideas???

    It has to be a hardware issue since the Xoom I owned had Honeycomb and it wasnt that bad at all.

    Hi,

    When I try tape-a-talk from the market which has much better recording quality then the Android stock app, it tells me that this has to be software related.
