I suggest manually checking for updates prior to rooting, under the settings > about tablet > update. I can't see what build you are running in the screenshot, and if it is not the latest update you may have to re-root after updating or the update may rail if rooted.

Here is the latest easy method of rooting an a100 on ics : Full root for A10x and A5xx ICS. Simple method. - xda-developers

I have used this several times on most versions of ics.

+1 on this method, Worked for me, (at least) TWICE! Though I did have to install "SuperUser" (or "SuperSU") to be able to actually be able to 'grant' root access.

Groovy, I can vouche as well. Worked on first attempt.

    I use Fedora 17 64-bit.

Set the tablet to usb debug in the tablet settings and ran "runit-linux.sh"
tablet rebooted then installed "superuser" then "titanium backup"

Took me awhile to respond because I lost my usb cord and had to order a new one, came in today. Thank you so much for the link tutorial. ^-^
